What to Expect from the New USPS Rate Hike

On Monday, February 11, 2008, the United States Postal Service announced its first price increase under the new guidelines of the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (PAEA). This postal rate increase is expected to take effect on May 12, 2008, and will be tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), as is required under the new Act. The overall rate increase is capped at 2.9%.
