Union Pacific Lifts Embargo; Interstate 5 Remains Closed
December 6, 2007
Union Pacific has lifted the embargo previously issued for intermodal traffic traveling to/from Seattle, WA, Tacoma, WA and Global Gateway North, WA, and is again accepting shipments to/from these facilities as well as all interchange locations.
Union Pacific is currently delegating personnel to all trains that were stopped due to the flooded areas. All affected tracks are expected to be operational by 2:00 p.m. PST.
Over-the-Road Conditions
A section of Interstate 5 is still closed just south of Seattle, WA and most likely will remain closed until at least Saturday, December 8 due to severe flooding in the area. QWL carriers leaving our Portland, OR Consolidation Facility and heading north towards Seattle, WA are experiencing intermittent delays because of the lengthy detour.
Quebecor World Logistics remains committed to the accurate and on time delivery of your product and will continue to do everything in our power to minimize delays in the affected areas.
